Meet Sofia Silberman

Sofia Silberman December 8, 2024

We were lucky to catch up with Sofia Silberman recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sofia, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my ability to learn and adapt. I love learning and acquiring new knowledge and skills. This helps me find creative solutions to problems and keeps me going, even when things get tough.

When I face a big challenge, I break it down into smaller steps. Then, I use what I already know to figure out the best way to tackle it. This helps me stay confident and focused.

I also believe that mistakes are learning opportunities. I’m not afraid to try new things, even if it means making mistakes along the way. This has helped me grow and become stronger over time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m also dedicated to giving back to my community. I founded a non-profit organization to support women struggling with infertility. Through coaching and financial assistance, I empower these women to realize their dreams of motherhood.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say my most important qualities were curiosity, empathy, and resilience.

I’ve always been curious. I was always that kid wanting to know everything that was happening around me, asking a million “why”s. That curiosity has fueled my learning and problem-solving skills.

Having empathy for others has set me apart and has allowed me to understand how people feel and why they behave a certain way. It’s been a key factor in helping me build great relationships and work well with others.

And let’s not forget about resilience, which for me has always been non-negotiable. Having the ability to bounce back from setbacks like a pro. It’s what’s kept me going through tough times and helped me grow stronger.

For those just starting out, here’s my advice:

Feed your curiosity by reading, asking questions, and never being afraid to experiment.
Practice empathy by listening actively, trying to see things from other people’s perspectives, and showing compassion.
Build your resilience by cultivating a positive mindset, taking care of yourself, and leaning on your support system. Remember, every challenge is a chance to learn and progress!

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

While it’s tempting to focus solely on our strengths, I believe a more balanced approach is the key to long-term success. I think it’s important to capitalize on our natural talents, but neglecting our weaknesses can limit our potential.

For example, let’s say you’re a skilled negotiator and can close deals like a pro, but if you struggle with marketing and lead generation, you might miss out on potential clients.
On the other hand, if you’re a marketing whiz, but lack strong negotiation skills, you might struggle to close deals and maximize your profits.

So, while it’s important to play to your strengths, don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and work on those areas where you could improve. A well-rounded approach can lead to greater
